What makes a good business website?

A good business website is not just about design.

There are other features that convince everyone (search engines and consumers) that a website deserves to be shown on Page One.

A good business website at the very least, needs to  satisfy these objectives:

#1 – A good business website has great content.

Great content is the foundation of every good website.

Google has become very good at ranking websites with high-quality content.

This means that if the content about you, your business, your services and products is not relevant, fresh and up to date, you will not survive online long term.

#2 – A good business website is SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZED (SEO).

You can create awesome content, that’s great but what’s next?

You need to make sure that Google can read and understand what your business is all about.

In simple words, create an SEO friendly website.

website free of technical SEO errors and provides the right signals about your business to the Google algorithm.

#3 – A good business website is optimized for mobile.

The vast majority of people are using their mobile devices to search for local business, so it is more than necessary to have a website optimized for mobile.

Google added mobile-friendliness as a search engine ranking factor, so failing to provide a mobile-friendly website will damage your Google rankings.

#4 – A good business website loads fast.

Neither users or Google want to visit a website that takes too long to load. Slow websites have lower Google rankings and offer a bad experience to users.

A website is considered slow if it loads in less than 2.5 seconds on mobile.

Do you know how fast (or slow!) your website loads?
