Calamities and Your Business

Who you should call when disaster strikes?

What assistance should you provide to people and property effected?

When should you call for emergency assistance?

Where can you get help with your disaster prevention plans?

Why after-event awareness of safety and insurance issues are vital?

Have you ever wondered what our VICSES (Victoria State Emergency Service) is really all about?

Who exactly is the SES, can they help your business as well as your home in an emergency – and how?

The VICSES Manningham Unit members are volunteers who give their time to help serve our community 24 hours, 7 days.  They are highly skilled and trained in a wide range of emergency conditions and rescues, as well as assisting other state emergency bodies such as the fire services, ambulance etc.

And yes, to the SES, emergencies related to your bricks and mortar business or your online business from home can be just as relevant and important as your residential family crisis.  After all, storms and floods aren’t selective!  Burst pipes, blocked drains or water mains can happen anywhere – like the weather!

So contingency planning for a business emergency is important.

Besides having your insurance up to date, there are other ways to plan for emergencies at work.  In this presentation, the VICSES team, will give you practical steps to take, including developing a take home plan to help protect your business and your staff.  They will also help you create an emergency kit.

We all know and recognise the critical work carried out by all our First Responders.  You are urged to take this great opportunity to learn how the SES organisation, with you, can play a vital role in keeping your community safe.
