Spring into Community Action – AND Boost your Bottom Line!
We have two very special speakers sharing information about just how we can do this –
Doreen Stoves, CEO of Doncare has some amazingly simple yet incredibly helpful ideas about how each and every business in Manningham can help Doncare do what they do best – help people in need in the Manningham area. For instance, a Real Estate business with a client who needs to dispose of furniture as they are downsizing could mention to their client that Doncare would gratefully receive furniture as a donation. The range of services Doncare provides their clients is vast – and many of these provide local businesses the opportunity to demonstrate great Corporate Citizenship by assisting in very easy and yet practical ways.
Corporate Citizenship and helping our local community? Can that really help my business and increase profits? You bet! And we have just the man who can prove it with stats and data from his own business experience.
Greg Morton owns Big Mates Pizza in Croydon and knows only too well how tough business can be. He even gave out free pizza vouchers to build his customer base, but without success. Instead, he now gives these vouchers to local schools, sporting clubs and NFPs for them to sell to raise much needed funds – AND his business is booming! How does this work? Greg will share his insider’s secrets in a no-holds-barred interview-style chat, showing us exactly how we can do the same in our business, and for the benefit of NFPs in our community.
For more information about what Greg gets up to, check out www.yourmategrego.com, the Big Mates Pizza Facebook page(https://www.facebook.com/search/553734918011914/local_search?surface=tyah ) or http://www.jazzysgift.org/
And … because this month is all about helping our community (and seeing great outcomes in our businesses as a result), this month sees the launch of MBN’s Quarterly Food Drive for Doncare.
Every day, Doncare provides food to people who have none – and their pantry empties quickly despite donations from local stores, schools and individuals. Your committee thinks our MBN community can help by having a food drive every 3 months. And we’re giving each food drive a theme to help you decide what you can donate.
September 2016 is all about Bountiful Breakfasts – so please bring non-perishable food along to our Open Meeting following this theme – cereals, long-life milk, cans of fruit, coffee, tea, long-life juices, peanut butter and jams are some ideas to get you started. Please pop something extra in your trolley next time you shop, bring it to the meeting and we’ll ensure it gets to Doncare straight away!
