Google My Business is constantly changing.

Google is adding, amending, deleting features and options all the time. 

So, your GMB listing is definitely not something that is set & forget!

Unfortunately, COVID-19 is still with us for the foreseeable future. 

Many establishments now require certain hygiene protocols to ensure that everyone – both staff and customers – are safe. 

Google recognizes this is an issue for businesses and earlier this week released Health & Safety attributes that you can select for your listing. 

This makes it easier for you to inform your customers what your protocols are and put them at ease when they visit you.

Disclaimer: I have noticed not ALL GMBs will have this new option –looks as though it depends on your Primary Category I.e. your type of business. 

These are new Google My Business Health & Safety Attributes:

  • Appointment required
  • Mask required
  • Temperature check required
  • Staff wear masks
  • Staff get temperature checks

 

How to add the new Health & Safety attributes 

And here’s a quick guide and image below to help you add the new Health & Safety attributes

  • Log into the backend of your GMB listing
  • Go to “Info” on the left-hand side.
  • Go to “Highlights
  • Tick which attribute best applies to your business.
  • Once done, click Apply
  • Add these to your Google My Business listing today!
