Our Manningham Business Network member, LL@A, are working hard for the local community as you will learn in this update …

Living and Learning at Ajani Inc is a Neighbourhood House located at 284 Thompsons Road, Lower Templestowe.  We offer a range of activities that provide the community with many ways in which to become more engaged with their local community.

Activity programs include exercise and yoga, meet up and walking groups, book club, as well as playgroups and activities for children.  Government funded programs to assist those seeking employment are offered in safe food handling, hospitality and barista training.

The Pantry is about to ‘explode’ in size with one of our rooms converted to a fully stocked walk around pantry with high and wide shelves around the room.  It will have stock available from Foodbank Victoria, but will also gather the Not Quite Right products from local stores, including butchers, bakers and fruiterers.

We are seeking Volunteers to assist with a Pantry, in 2 hour shifts between 10 am and 3 pm Monday to Friday to assist in the pantry itself.  Volunteers willing to drive around the local area to collect pantry goods and fresh produce from suppliers will also be needed. If you have a larger vehicle or access to a small van you may like to volunteer on a Tuesday at 12.30 to collect our order from Food Bank Victoria in Yarraville, or Fare Share frozen meals in Abbotsford.    If you like gardening or cooking and like to meet others with similar interests, we also need volunteers to help cook our frozen meals, or manage our small community garden on the Ajani Reserve which contributes produce to our programs.

Please contact Chris Mountford on 0447 772 705 or email chris@livelearnajani.org.au to register your interest.
